An untold gem few known by people is the exciting and adventurous trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp. The trek falls in the Annapurna range which also starts and ends in Pokhara. Mardi Himal Base Camp offers extraordinary views of the stunning mountains and trail covers splendid rhododendron forests. The trek is a part of the Annapurna Conservation area that starts from the height of 800 m and reaches up to the height of 4,500 m.

1Day

Drive from Pokhara to Kande - Trek from Kande to Deurali.

Our Mardi Trek starts with a hour’s drive from Pokhara to Kande from where to commence to walk. Kande is located at 1,770 m. as we start walking, we ascent to a height of 2,100m after roughly 1.5 hours to reach the beautiful Australian Camp. As we move further, we reach Pothana. The walk from Kande to Pothana is a pleasant walk, however as we elevate further to Deurali from Pothana we start walking gradually up to the height of 2,200 m. We stop by in Deurali for the night.

2Day

Deurali to Forest Camp - Rest Camp (2,605 m).

Today we start heading right from Deurali to reach the Forest camp first and then start our day’s stop at the Rest Camp. The trail from Deurali to the Forest Camp passes through the jungle. The trail first drops down steeply and gains height back onto the ridge. We need to walk about 4 hours to reach the Forest Camp from Deurali. As we lay back to rest for some while at the Forest Camp, we get back to the track to reach our destination; the Rest Camp, which will be our stop for the night.

3Day

Rest Camp (2,605 m) - Low Camp - High Camp

As we start our day; we start walking through the jungle leaving the Rest Camp behind. After an hour’s walk, we get out of the jungle to an open ridge with the Machhapuchhre laying in front of us and Annapurna on the left side leading us to Low Camp. we then walk for roughly about 6 hours to reach the High Camp, which will be the stop for the day.

4Day

High Camp - Mardi Himal Base Camp - High Camp.

The colorful Danphe, beautiful views of the mountains and isolated rhododendron bushes are what awaits you on the way to and at the Mardi Himal Base Camp. The trek from High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp is roughly 4 hours. However, the is a Middle Camp also known as the Badal Danda just 1.5 hours walk away from High Camp, which has equally beautiful views and can be our point of rest. We then advance to reach our destination and walk back down to High Camp and end the day.

5Day

High Camp - Siding Village.

Today we take a different route which completes a circuit of the trek as we head towards the Siding Village. Siding is a traditional old village that has still not been influenced by the tourist market. Hence, you may have stay with a local family residing in the village. This is a better opportunity for you to learn about the culture of the village and know the local people. Also, you will get to enjoy the local firewood cooked rice and dal.

6Day

Siding Village - Pokhara.

On the last day of the trek we drive back to Pokhara from Siding which may roughly take 4-5 hours.

  • Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu because of early from mountain or late departure.
  • All personal & bar expenses in Kathmandu during the trek.
  • Tips for trekking staff & driver (tipping is expected).
